Much of the advocacy we engage in happens at the Department, Agency, and Administration level. Once legislation is passed, ensuring successful implementation is crucial for our CHCs and patients. We consistently and actively engage with state departments, such as the Departments of Health Care Services, Health Care Access and Information, Public Health, Managed Health Care, and Consumer Affairs, to influence how regulations are drafted, interpreted, or implemented. Take a look at some of our top regulatory and administrative priorities for 2024:

Supplemental Payment Pool

We will ensure that payments are flowing to health centers and transitioning to a Directed Payment model.

CHC Quality Incentive Program

We will develop a quality incentive program for community health centers (CHCs),

PPS Modernization

We are continuing efforts to modernize the Prospective Payment System (PPS).

Behavioral Health Access

We will work to remove the mandatory change in scope requirement for licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. UPDATE: this issue has been resolved through AB 2703 (Aguiar-Curry).
