Federal Priorities for Community Health Centers
Community health centers provide comprehensive primary and preventative health services to over 30 million people in medically underserved communities. Health centers are non-profit, federally supported safety net providers that treat all patients regardless of income or insurance status. It is important to know that health centers rely on federal grant funding to provide affordable services to uninsured and underinsured patients on a sliding fee scale. Because of this, CPCA Advocates works in close partnership with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to track and coordinate responses to federal legislation and budget actions. Key federal issues for community health centers include health center funding and workforce.
CPCA Advocates also often promotes and supports NACHC's Health Center Advocacy Network advocacy actions and works closely to continue to grow the nationwide community health center movement. If you join the Health Center Advocacy Network you will be able to easily call, write, and tweet your Member of Congress in support of health center funding and other critical issues.
